Monitoring of Alerts DB Administration Documentation Maintaining Trackers/LogsSQL Installation and Configuration OTRS Handling

Description:

• Monitoring database instances
• Monitoring and analysing resources allocation
• Install& configure SQL Server software with upgrades/ fixes
• Check to make sure the SQL Server is online, and connectivity is working fine.
• Check error logs and if found any critical errors then escalate to L2 DBA
• Ensure all (Full, differential and log) backups are running fine.
• Check open tickets/issues and be sure issues/requests are addressed within SLA.
• Ensure that no SQL Server job has failed and follow the SOPs if any job is failing.
• Check the general health of the server (space, CPU utilization, memory) to confirm there are no issues.
• Acknowledge every mail within SLA and if required escalate to senior DBA.
• Join bridge calls for P1(SEV1) and P2 (SEV2) incidents along with L2/L3 DBAs.
• Make sure to respond to all the SQL DB alerts and take proper action.
• Work on DB Refresh activity Work with DBA team to provide support to development team
• Support open-source database platforms like MYSQL, PostgreSQL would be an add on

REQUISITE QUALIFICATION

Essential:

Bachelor-s degree Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA)

Requisite work experience:

Essential:

• 2-4 year of DBA experience in a SQL Server environment.
• He / she should have handled medium to large databases in multi-server environment.
  

Preferred:
He / she should have worked in SQL Server 2012 / 2014 / 2016 / 2017 / 2019 / 2022 environment with High Availability Always On setup.

Special skills required:

Essential:
SQL server Administration:- Installation & configuration, users & disk management, Management of SQL server logs and Backups Monitoring various versions SQL Server Production servers using standard tools Knowledge of Windows Server OS Coordination with other teams like Operations/Windows/Networking

Preferred:

• Analyse and correct problems that occur in the SQL Server environment.
• Troubleshooting basic Performance related issues
• Installation & configuration of SQL Server 2014 and above versions
• Familiar with High Availability solutions Familiarity with IT standards like ISO 27000 Familiarity with PIM tool is an add on
• Good English (Oral & Written)
• Working knowledge of Linux as OS Knowledge on Cloud DB (Azure, Aws)
