Electrical Supervisor

Job Purpose/Summary:

• To supervise and coordinate all electrical maintenance activities within a designated section or shift, ensuring safe and efficient execution of repairs, preventive maintenance, and installations to maintain the reliability of electrical systems and equipment throughout the plant.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Team Supervision:

  Lead, assign tasks, and supervise a team of electricians. Ensure adherence to work instructions, electrical safety codes, and quality standards.

• Work Execution:

  Oversee the execution of electrical repairs, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and installations on motors, panels, switchgear, transformers, lighting, and power distribution systems.

• Safety Compliance:

  Conduct toolbox talks, enforce electrical safety rules, and ensure all team members follow LOTO procedures. Report and investigate near misses/incidents.

• Troubleshooting:

  Diagnose complex electrical faults (e.g., motor trips, panel failures, wiring issues) and guide technicians in implementing effective repairs.

• Resource Management:

  Ensure availability of tools, testing equipment, and electrical spare parts for scheduled jobs. Manage work permits.

• Quality of Work:

  Inspect completed electrical work to ensure compliance with electrical codes and functionality.

• Reporting:

  Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, downtime, and resource utilization. Provide daily shift reports to the E&I Maintenance Manager.

• Training & Development:

  Provide on-the-job training and guidance to junior electricians.

• Coordination:

  Liaise with Operations for equipment availability and with other maintenance disciplines for integrated work.

Required Qualifications:

• Diploma in Electrical Engineering or ITI Electrician trade certificate with significant supervisory experience.
• Valid Wireman/Supervisor license as per local regulations (e.g., CEA).

Required Experience:

• 8-12 years of hands-on experience in industrial electrical maintenance in a heavy process industry.
• At least 3-5 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong practical knowledge of HT/LT systems, motors, VFDs, switchgear, and PLC wiring.
