About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Solution Architect – DevOps with strong expertise in designing and implementing scalable, secure, and automated cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD automation, combined with domain expertise in the pharmaceutical/life sciences industry, particularly in areas such as GxP compliance, data security, and regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design end-to-end DevOps solutions and scalable cloud architectures tailored for pharmaceutical industry requirements (GxP, HIPAA, FDA compliance, data privacy).

Define reference architectures, best practices, and standards for cloud, automation, and infrastructure-as-code deployments.

Lead the setup and optimization of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Terraform.

Architect and manage multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure) with Kubernetes, Docker, and GitOps-based workflows.

Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks to ensure reliable and reproducible environments.

Collaborate with pharma IT, R&D, and commercial teams to design compliant solutions for clinical, commercial, and manufacturing systems.

Ensure infrastructure meets regulatory and validation requirements for pharma (audit-readiness, traceability, 21 CFR Part 11).

Provide architectural guidance for data pipelines, analytics, and AI/ML integrations in life sciences use cases.

Define and implement cloud security best practices (IAM, VPC, encryption, vulnerability management).

Support compliance initiatives in regulated environments, ensuring adherence to pharma IT governance frameworks.

Work closely with developers, QA, and product teams to streamline deployment processes and cloud migration projects.

Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, bridging business needs with technical solutions.

Mentor junior DevOps engineers and guide project teams in adopting cloud-native practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 7–15 years in IT with strong focus on DevOps, Solution Architecture, and Cloud Engineering.

Industry Background: Prior experience in Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences (mandatory).

Cloud Platforms: AWS, Azure (multi-cloud expertise preferred).

Containerization & Orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker, GitOps.

CI/CD & Automation: Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Ansible.

Programming & Scripting: Python, Java, Bash.

Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.

Infrastructure Tools: Microsoft AD, Networking, System Administration, Cloud Security.

Operating Systems: Linux (strong background).

Frameworks (Nice to Have): Spring Boot, ReactJS (for application-level integration).

Certifications: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), AWS Cloud Practitioner (preferred).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with pharma regulatory compliance (GxP, HIPAA, GDPR, 21 CFR Part 11).

Familiarity with pharma R&D IT systems, clinical data pipelines, and commercial analytics platforms.

Exposure to AI/ML integrations in cloud-native environments.

Strong communication skills and ability to engage with CIO/CDO/CTO-level stakeholders.

Additional Leadership & Engagement Requirements

Ability to lead and guide a DevOps engineering team, starting with 1 Lead and scaling to a 10-member team.

Investigate current processes and CI/CD pipelines to identify performance bottlenecks.

Provide actionable recommendations and technical remediation strategies to improve performance and efficiency.

Communicate findings and solutions effectively to client stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.

Scale, mentor, and manage the expanded team, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry best practices.

Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills, with experience in long-term client-facing engagements.

Strong ability to quickly assess, optimize, and transform existing systems in pharma-regulated environments.
