Devops Engineer

Key responsibilities

Design & Implement Modular DevOps Frameworks

• Architect and implement reusable Terraform modules, shared pipeline templates, and centralized configuration libraries.
• Apply OOP principles (encapsulation, inheritance, abstraction) to IaC and automation code.
• Design and implement factory and invocation design patterns for provisioning and deployment workflows.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

• Develop and maintain environment-based Terraform modules across cloud providers (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• Implement dynamic backends, robust variable management, workspaces, and automated validation checks.
• Integrate policy and security checks (Sentinel, OPA, Checkov or equivalent) into IaC pipelines.

CI/CD Engineering

• Design multi-stage, template-driven pipelines (Azure DevOps preferred) that support invocation-based execution of modules.
• Build reusable libraries for standard build, test and deploy actions; implement gated releases and progressive deployments (canary, blue/green).
• Integrate automated observability, performance and compliance checks into pipeline stages.

Automation & Scripting

• Build automation frameworks using Python or PowerShell with OOP design patterns.
• Implement task orchestration (CLI tools, API triggers, scheduled runners) to automate provisioning, configuration and validation across environments.

Containerization & Orchestration

• Design Docker images, Kubernetes manifests and Helm charts using modular and templated approaches.
• Implement service-mesh integrations (Istio, Linkerd) for observability, traffic management and policy enforcement.
• Ensure stateless design, scalability and reliability for cloud-native services.

Observability & FinOps

• Integrate full-stack telemetry (Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana) to monitor infra, apps and pipelines.
• Implement automated tagging, cost allocation and governance for environments and workloads.
• Establish telemetry standards and SLO/SLIs for platform health and deployments.

Security & Compliance

• Embed DevSecOps practices in CI/CD and runtime workflows; ensure vulnerability scanning of images and dependencies.
• Implement Policy-as-Code frameworks and automated enforcement.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to ensure audits and standards are met.

Required skills & qualifications

• 5+ years building production IaC and CI/CD automation in enterprise environments.
• Strong Terraform experience (module design, remote backends, workspaces, state management).
• Proven experience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, templates) or other major CI/CD platforms.
• Proficient in Python or PowerShell with solid OOP/programming practices.
• Solid Kubernetes, Docker and Helm knowledge; experience at scale.
• Experience with service mesh (Istio or Linkerd) and Kubernetes networking/security.
• Familiarity with policy-as-code tools (Sentinel, OPA) and static scanning tools (Checkov, tfsec).
• Observability stack experience (Prometheus, Grafana, Application Insights or equivalent).
• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and multi-cloud patterns.
• Good grasp of FinOps fundamentals: tagging, cost governance, resource optimization.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice-to-have

• Experience designing invocation/factory patterns for IaC and pipelines.
• Background in building internal developer platforms or platform-as-a-service.
• Experience with service-mesh observability integrations and traffic-management policies.
• Experience with policy enforcement at pipeline and runtime (OPA/Sentinel rulesets).
• Certification(s): HashiCorp Terraform, Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD), AWS/Azure/GCP Cloud certs.
