Job Description

Zensar Technologies is looking for DATABASES-Engineering-Oracle to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey

You will manage database performance, security, and integrity, and work closely with development teams to support application requirements
Key Responsibilities:Database Administration: Manage and maintain PostgreSQL databases, including installation, configuration, and routine updates
Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, and improving overall system efficiency
Security: Implement and maintain data security policies, access controls, encryption, and authentication measures to protect sensitive data
Backup and Recovery: Establish and manage backup and recovery strategies to ensure data availability and disaster recovery preparedness
Query Optimization: Analyze and optimize SQL queries for performance, identify slow queries, and apply indexing and query tuning techniques
Database Design: Participate in database design and schema development, ensuring data models align with application requirements
High Availability: Set up and manage high-availability solutions, such as replication and clustering, to ensure database availability and data redundancy
Migration and Upgrades: Plan and execute database migrations, version upgrades, and patch management as necessary
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures
Query Analysis and Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve complex database-related issues, including identifying root causes, proposing solutions, and implementing fixes
Query and Resource Monitoring: Implement monitoring and alerting for database performance and resource utilization
Compliance: Ensure that databases meet regulatory and compliance requirements, and participate in audits as needed
Data Migration and ETL: Assist in data migration and Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes between systems
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
Several years of professional experience in database administration, with a focus on PostgreSQL
Strong knowledge of SQL and database management concepts
Proficiency in database performance tuning and optimization
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications:PostgreSQL certification or relevant certifications in database administration
Experience with other RDBMS (e

, MySQL, Oracle) or NoSQL databases
Knowledge of PostgreSQL extensions and advanced features
Familiarity with cloud-based database services (e

, AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL)
Previous experience in a senior or leadership role in database administration
