Role Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled Database Support Engineer to join our Database Support team.

The candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in Oracle Database Administration and

PostgreSQL Administration, with experience in production support, performance tuning,

troubleshooting, and cloud environments (preferably AWS). This role involves working with cross-

functional teams, handling critical incidents, ensuring database stability, and supporting global

customers in a 24x7 environment.

Oracle Database Administration (Primary Skill):

• Perform day-to-day administration of Oracle databases across production and non-

production environments.

• Troubleshoot performance issues using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and query execution plans.

• Perform backup & recovery using RMAN, Data Pump.

• Handle tablespace/datafile/log file management.

• Diagnose listener and connectivity issues.

• Support and maintain RAC environments.

• Creating and Monitoring alerts using Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).

PostgreSQL Database Administration:

• Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL on Linux/EC2/RDS.

• Perform WAL configuration and tuning.

• Troubleshoot performance using EXPLAIN, logs, and system metrics.

• Manage roles, authentication, pg_hba.conf, postgresql.conf.

• Perform backups & restores (pg_dump, snapshots).

• Manage extensions (PostGIS etc).

• Handle replication and failover.

• Tune autovacuum and perform maintenance.

• Support version upgrades and migrations.

Linux/Unix Administration:

• OS troubleshooting, patching, process monitoring and system health checks.

• Filesystem/disk management.

• Shell scripting for automation.

AWS Cloud (Preferred):

• Manage AWS RDS Oracle & PostgreSQL.

• Perform snapshots, PITR, restore testing.

• Monitor performance via CloudWatch, performance insights.

Required Skills:

• 4 - 8 years as Oracle & PostgreSQL DBA.

• Strong Oracle internals & RAC knowledge.

• Deep understanding of PostgreSQL architecture.

• Strong Linux skills.

• Experience with performance troubleshooting.

• Monitor and respond to database alerts.

• Perform RCA and prepare reports.
