As a Database Developer at RiskSpan Technologies, your main role will involve designing, optimizing, and engineering high-efficiency database solutions for the flagship products, with a specialized focus on Snowflake development. Your responsibilities will include performance tuning, query efficiency, and advanced Snowflake engineering while minimizing administrative tasks. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design and develop efficient Snowflake databases, schemas, tables, and views for high-performance applications. - Write complex, highly optimized SQL queries and stored procedures in Snowflake. - Analyze, monitor, and enhance database and query performance for low latency and high scalability. - Implement best practices for Snowflake query profiling, clustering, materialized views, and caching mechanisms. - Collaborate closely with application and analytics engineering teams to maximize query performance. - Develop reusable database components and standards to ensure consistency and efficiency. - Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and provide tuning recommendations. - Actively participate in code reviews and design discussions related to database engineering. **Required Skills & Qualifications:** - Certification: Snowflake SnowPro Core Certification (mandatory). - Experience: 3-5 years of strong database development experience, with at least 2 years dedicated to Snowflake development. - Expertise in SQL performance tuning, query optimization, and stored procedure development. - Deep understanding of Snowflake-specific features like micro-partitioning, clustering keys, and query profiling tools. - Good grasp of database engineering concepts such as indexing strategies, query execution plans, and data distribution. - Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing database scripts and objects. - Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills. **Nice to Have:** - Experience with analytic functions and large-scale data transformations within Snowflake. - Exposure to Python for stored procedure scripting in Snowflake (Snowpark/External Functions is a plus). - Knowledge of dbt (data build tool) for data modeling and transformation. - Familiarity with basic Snowflake administration (user/role management, resource monitors) is a bonus.
