About the Role

Cyber Security Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations
Monitor and analyze security events, logs, and alerts to identify potential threats.
Respond to and investigate security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities.
Manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), SIEM tools, and endpoint protection.

Risk & Compliance

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration tests.
Implement policies and procedures aligned with ISO 27001, GDPR, SOC 2, or other relevant frameworks.
Maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual security requirements.

Infrastructure & Application Security

Secure cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and SaaS platforms.
Partner with engineering teams to ensure secure application development (DevSecOps).
Review code and system configurations for security flaws.

Identity & Access Management

Manage access controls, authentication mechanisms (SSO, MFA), and privileged accounts.
Enforce least-privilege and zero-trust principles.

Awareness & Training

Train employees on phishing, password hygiene, and data handling.
Lead internal security drills and simulations (red team/blue team exercises).

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
(Master’s preferred).
3–6 years of experience
in cyber security, information security, or related roles.
Strong knowledge of:
Network security, firewalls, and VPNs.
Security frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls, ISO 27001).
Vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools (e.g., Nessus, Burp Suite, Metasploit).
SIEM and monitoring solutions (Splunk, ELK, QRadar).
Cloud security (AWS IAM, KMS, VPC Security).
Relevant certifications are a plus:
CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, CompTIA Security+
.

Soft Skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication to explain security risks to non-technical teams.
Ability to work under pressure during incident response.
Proactive and detail-oriented mindset.
