Responsibilities
- Custom theme & plugin development: Develop, customize, and maintain bespoke WordPress themes and plugins tailored to meet specific business needs and enhance user experience. Ensure code quality, reusability, and adherence to WordPress coding standards.
- Cross-department collaboration: Collaborate effectively with design, marketing, and content teams to translate creative concepts into fully functional, visually appealing, and user-friendly websites that align with brand guidelines.
- Performance optimization: Implement advanced site speed and performance optimizations including efficient caching mechanisms, asset minification, lazy loading, and CDN integration. Monitor and enhance website Core Web Vitals and overall responsiveness.
- Search engine optimization (SEO): Lead technical SEO efforts for WordPress sites- optimize metadata, schema markup, URL structure, sitemaps, and ensure compatibility with SEO tools like Yoast or RankMath. Regularly audit and address SEO issues impacting site rankings.
- Debugging & troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve functional, design, and compatibility issues across different browsers, devices, and WordPress versions. Utilize debugging tools such as WP_DEBUG, Query Monitor, and others for effective issue resolution.
- Security & maintenance: Enforce WordPress security best practices including input sanitization, proper use of nonces, user role management, and plugin/theme updates. Conduct regular website audits to identify security vulnerabilities and performance bottlenecks.
- Continuous learning: Stay current with the latest WordPress developments, web technologies, and best practices to recommend and implement improvements that keep NetWit's web properties ahead of the curve.
- Technical support & Training: Provide ongoing technical support, documentation, and training to internal teams to empower them to use WordPress tools effectively and troubleshoot minor issues independently.
Eligibility
- 1 year of relevant experience
- Understanding of WordPress, CSS3, PHP, HTML5, and JavaScript, along with a passion for creating exceptional websites
