UX Designer

What You'll Do

Role Overview

As a UX Designer at Avalara, you will lead the design of user interfaces for our cloud-based tax compliance solutions. You will work with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to create intuitive, user-friendly designs that meet the needs of our diverse user base.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the UX design process from concept to completion for new features and products.
• Collaborate with teams to understand user needs and business goals.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to effectively communicate design ideas.
• Partner with user research and usability testing teams to gather feedback and refine designs.
• Develop and maintain design guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency across products.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior UX designers.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in UX design.
• Develop and maintain detailed design specifications, while meeting accessibility standards.
• Present and defend design recommendations to partners, partners, and senior leadership for review, feedback, and approval.
• Measure the success and effectiveness of UX innovations.
• Create and maintain reusable Figma components.
  

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in UX design, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
• Proven experience leading UX design projects from concept to launch.
• Experience with user-centred design principles and methodologies.
• Experience with user research and usability testing.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch or similar.
• Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field like Engineering. A Master's degree from reputed institutes like NID, IITs.
  

What You'll Need to be Successful

Skills

• Knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS and front-end development.
• Lead the UX design process from concept to completion for new features and products.
