Unix Scripting Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and maintain

  Unix shell scripts

  (ksh/bash) to automate routine system tasks and workflows.
• Utilize

  Unix command-line utilities

  to support operational and development teams.
• Monitor and manage

  Unix processes

  , troubleshoot process-related issues.
• Work with

  storage systems

  : manage and understand

  mount points

  , disk usage, and storage allocation.
• Handle

  file system structures

  , perform file system checks, manage logs, and monitor storage health.
• Manage

  file and directory permissions

  , including ownership, symbolic links, ACLs, and sticky bits.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, application, and support teams to ensure system reliability and performance.
  

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in

  Unix/Linux administration or scripting

  .
• Proficiency in

  bash and/or ksh scripting

  .
• Solid understanding of

  Unix/Linux command-line tools and utilities

  (e.g., awk, sed, grep, find, xargs, cron, top, ps, etc.).
• Good knowledge of

  Unix process lifecycle

  and job scheduling.
• Understanding of

  storage basics

  , including

  mounting file systems

  , and working with

  LVM

  ,

  NFS

  , or SAN storage.
• Hands-on experience with

  file systems, permissions

  , and user/group management.
• Familiarity with

  Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)

  environments.
