TGT Social Science Teacher

About The Opportunity

• Deliver engaging, standards-aligned Social Science lessons (History, Civics, Geography, basic Economics) for middle and secondary classes (typically Grades 6–10), adapting instruction for diverse learners.
• Prepare detailed lesson plans, learning objectives, and differentiated materials that align with CBSE/ICSE/state board syllabi and year-long scope & sequence.
• Design and administer formative and summative assessments, maintain accurate student records, and use results to inform instruction and remedial support.
• Maintain positive classroom discipline and nurture an inclusive environment that promotes critical thinking, map skills, and source analysis.
• Integrate teaching aids and digital tools (Google Classroom, interactive whiteboards, presentations) to enhance understanding and student participation.
• Coordinate with colleagues, attend parent–teacher meetings, contribute to co-curricular activities, and support school events and committees.
  

Skills & Qualifications

Must-Have

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Science/History/Political Science/Geography and a B.Ed (or equivalent teaching qualification).
• Minimum 1 year of classroom teaching experience as a TGT or equivalent in a K-12 environment; familiarity with lesson planning and assessment cycles.
• Strong subject knowledge across History, Civics, Geography and Economics; effective classroom management and clear communication in English (and local language as required).
  

Preferred

• Experience with CBSE/ICSE/state board curricula, CTET/TET qualification, and exposure to preparing students for competitive scholastic assessments (NTSE, Olympiads).
• Proficiency using digital teaching platforms (Google Classroom, LMS), interactive tools, and multimedia resources for blended learning.
• Experience mentoring students, leading clubs or project-based learning initiatives and contributing to school culture.
