Test Automation Engineer - Infotainment

Role Overview

The Test Automation Engineer will design, build, and execute automated test frameworks and test suites for in-vehicle infotainment systems. This role targets both Android Automotive and embedded environments, ensuring high-quality, reliable cumulative softwarehardware integration for modern vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop & Maintain Automation Frameworks

  for IVI systemscovering Linux and Android Automotive layers (UI, app logic, system, and integration tests).

• Design Automated Test Suites

  using Python, Pytest, Appium, or similar tools, targeting functional, regression, and system-level scenarios.

• Build CI/CD Integration

  by embedding automated tests into Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI pipelines for continuous feedback loops.

• Execute Tests on Embedded Hardware

  including real devices, development rigs, and test benches; analyze test results and report defects with reproducible logs.

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally

  with software devs, embedded platform engineers, and hardware teams to identify test gaps and troubleshoot issues.

• Create Test Documentation

  such as plans, cases, and traceability matrices in Testrail or similar test management tools.

• Optimize Automation Strategies

  by contributing to framework extensions, QA process improvements, and mentoring junior team members.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Education:

  BS/MS in Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.

• Work Experience:

  8+ years of software development or test automation experience; ideally 6+ years for senior/Staff-level roles.

• Programming Languages

  :
• Python (Pytest), Java, C++ for framework and test script development.
• C++ exposure to Android HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer) in automotive platforms.

• Test Automation Tools

  :
• Appium, Pytest for UI/system testing.
• Experience with CANoe, CAPL, Python scripting for diagnostics (plus Android frameworks).

• Embedded Systems Knowledge

  : Understanding of RTOS, embedded architecture, Android Automotive OS frameworks, and hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, CAN).

• CI/CD & Version Control

  : Hands-on with Jenkins/GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Git, and experience with test management tools like Testrail or Jira.

• Soft Skills

  : Excellent troubleshooting, debugging, communication abilities, and mentoring experience.

Preferred Bonus Skills

• Familiarity with certification standards such as Android Auto or Apple CarPlay.
• Prior experience in Automotive communication protocols (CAN, Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth) within IVI environments.
• Log-analysis expertise across Android, QNX, network traces for IVI diagnostics.
