Description
The Technical Manager, specializing in Data Warehouse & Business Intelligence (BI), leads a team of direct reports in the field of Business Intelligence and Data Management. Your primary role involves implementing the enterprise analytics data engineering strategy and acting as a bridge between IT and various business units for the development and maintenance of the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Your responsibilities include hiring, managing, coaching, and leading a team of Business Intelligence Engineers and Data Engineers. You will work closely with product stakeholders to understand business requirements and define data elements and structures necessary for analytical capabilities. Collaborating with business customers, you will implement solutions to support analytical and reporting needs. Your expertise should cover data warehousing, enterprise system data architecture, data processing, data management, and data analysis. Additionally, you will engage in strategic and tactical planning discussions and collaborate with Data Engineering and Software Development teams to ensure proper capture and storage of key data points. As a liaison between business units and business intelligence, you will coordinate efforts between technical and business groups to provide data warehouse and business intelligence capabilities. It will be your responsibility to define and execute a strategic plan aligning data warehousing and business intelligence with overall business strategy. Setting technology and business process standards and ensuring adherence to those standards will also fall within your scope of responsibilities. In terms of education and experience, a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred. You should have over 10 years of experience in Information Technology leadership, system design, and application development, with at least 3 years managing data-related technology implementation projects. Moreover, 5+ years of experience leading Data Warehouse & BI teams is required. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Meeting deadlines, multitasking, and prioritizing workloads are key skills, as well as possessing excellent analytical abilities. Preferred qualifications include demonstrated leadership in technology fields like Development, Database, Data Warehousing, and Data Processing. Knowledge of software engineering best practices, agile methodologies, coding standards, and experience providing technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers are also valued.
