Technical Lead SaaS Booking Platform

Role overview:

The Technical Lead will drive the architecture, development and operation of a Saas App. This role combines hands on engineering with leadership and requires someone who can design scalable systems, enforce security best practices and manage a small engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the engineering team: Mentor and guide developers, set coding standards and conduct

code reviews . Foster a collaborative, high performance culture and provide ongoing

feedback and support.

• Architect scalable and secure systems: Design and implement a cloud native architecture

that is reliable, scalable and cost efficient. Make key decisions on technology stack,

microservices, data storage and network design to ensure the platform can scale to millions

of users.

• Own DevOps and cloud infrastructure: Manage deployment pipelines, monitoring and

maintenance of cloud environments. Optimise performance and costs, and ensure high

availability.

• Ensure security and compliance: Implement security best practices and privacy safeguards

(encryption, access controls, regular audits) to protect user data and comply with laws such

as Indias DPDP Act. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to adhere to payment and

data regulations.

• Maintain and improve application performance: Monitor system performance, perform

load testing and proactively address bottlenecks. Design caching and loadbalancing

strategies to guarantee a smooth user experience.

• Own the backlog for bugs and technical debt: Diagnose and resolve issues quickly, prioritise

fixes and schedule regular refactoring to keep code maintainable.

• Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with product managers, designers, QA,

marketing and customer support to translate business requirements into technical solutions

and feature roadmaps.

• Evaluate and integrate thirdparty tools: Assess external frameworks, APIs or payment

gateways and conduct technical reviews to ensure compatibility, security and scalability.

• Stay current and innovate: Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.

Preferred candidate profile

Essential qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.

• 5+ years of fullstack engineering experience and proven leadership in building

consumerfacing web/mobile products.

• Expertise in designing and implementing scalable software architectures and microservices.

• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or GCP) and DevOps practices; experience

with containerisation, CI/CD pipelines and infrastructureascode.

• Demonstrated ability to enforce security and compliance standards (e.g., OWASP, PCIDSS,

ISO) and to handle sensitive data.

• Proficiency in modern web technologies (e.g., JavaScript/TypeScript, React or Angular for

frontend; Node.js, Python or Java for backend), relational and NoSQL databases, RESTful

APIs and version control.

• Experience with performance optimisation, logging and monitoring solutions.

• Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently in a fastpaced, startup

environment.

Preferred qualifications

• Masters degree or advanced certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Scrum

Master)

• Experience in the beauty, wellness or bookingplatform domain.

• Familiarity with AI/ML for recommendations, search and scheduling optimisation.

• Comfort working with crossborder payment systems and multitenant SaaS architectures.
