Technical Assistant

Department: Technical services Department

Experience: 1-3 years in weaving or knitting operations, preferably with training or quality audit exposure
Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Textile Technology / Engineering , Experience working with composite mills or export-oriented units or any weaving loomshed.

Salary: ₹20,000

Job Responsibilities:

1. Technical Auditing

• Conduct regular audits of weaving and knitting machines, processes, and fabric output.
• Review machine settings, yarn parameters, tension control, and maintenance practices.
• Identify production inefficiencies, defects, and non-compliances (e.g., loom faults, barre, streaks, miss picks).
• Provide root cause analysis and corrective action plans.

2. Training & Capacity Building

• Train machine operators, fitters, and supervisors on:
• Machine setup and running techniques
• Preventive maintenance
• Quality parameters and checkpoints
• Handling different yarns and fabric constructions
• Develop SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and work instructions.
• Conduct workshops and hands-on sessions on defect identification and resolution.

3. Process Optimization

• Recommend improvements in machine working and process flow to reduce defects and downtime.
• Assist in setting up trials for new fabrics, yarns, or machine upgrades requirements.
• Work closely with quality teams to monitor and maintain consistent fabric quality.

4. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain audit reports, training logs, and follow-up actions.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing material such as training manuals or visual aids. Skills Required:
• Understanding of weaving (e.g., shuttleless, air-jet, rapier) and knitting (circular, flatbed) machines and any type of loom working in the mill.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) for reporting

• Familiarity with various yarn types (cotton, blends, synthetics) and fabric structures
• Troubleshooting and defect analysis
• Ability to conduct training in both classroom and shopfloor settings
• Good communication skills (written and verbal)

Job Type: Contractual / Temporary
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From ₹20,000.00 per month
