Role Overview

The Tableau Administrator will assist in managing and maintaining the Tableau Server environment, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. This role supports dashboard deployment, user access management, and troubleshooting while collaborating with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth BI operations.


Key Responsibilities

•                Assist in installation, configuration, and maintenance of Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop environments.

•                Manage user access, permissions, and security groups in Tableau Server.

•                Support publishing, scheduling, and versioning of Tableau dashboards and data sources.

•                Monitor server performance; extract refresh schedules, and logs to ensure system stability.

•                Help troubleshoot and resolve server, performance, and connectivity issues.

•                Collaborate with Tableau Developers to optimize workbook performance and ensure best practices.

•                Participate in upgrade and patch management activities.

•                Maintain documentation of configurations, processes, and operational guidelines.

•                Provide basic support and training for Tableau users within the organization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

•            Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

•            2–5 years of experience with Tableau Desktop and/or Tableau Server administration.

•            Basic understanding of SQL, data warehousing concepts, and relational databases.

•            Familiarity with Windows/Linux server environments.

•            Understanding of data governance, security, and role-based access control.

•            Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

•            Ability to learn quickly and work collaboratively in a team environment.

•            Exposure to Tableau Cloud.

•            Knowledge of Python or PowerShell scripting for automation.

•            Experience with Active Directory integration and SSO (SAML, LDAP).

•                Good to Have - Awareness of other BI tools (e.g., Superset).
