The PLC Controls Engineer II implements electrical projects and is responsible for designing, developing, & implementing PLC software projects as Control Engineer and shall work independently for an integrated system or sub-system.This role spans from coding and commissioning to technical management and reporting, ensuring projects meet scope, budget, and timeline requirements.The Controls Automation Engineer takes complete accountability for all automation and controls aspects of assigned projects. This role involves planning, executing, and delegating tasks across the entire project lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration of automation systems. The engineer proactively coordinates and forecasts resource requirements—both in-house and on-site—which may include collaboration with other cross-functional teams. By leveraging expertise in automation technologies, the Controls Automation Engineer drives project success through effective leadership, technical oversight, and continuous process improvement.The engineer takes a holistic approach in understanding core design features, project elements, overall network architecture, control design requirement and manages the scope, budget, schedule, maintaining internal and external customer expectations throughout the project life cycle.
Responsibilities
- Apply prescriptive methodology to project tasks
- Collaborate with other functional engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Software etc.)
- Execute project tasks
- Prepare or update reports and documentation
- Attends weekly team meetings; reviews scheduled tasks/timelines
- Work independently on automation projects for material handling, warehouse systems
- Develop and implement PLC code for the material handling equipment
- Review AutoCAD layouts and schematics to program the PLC system
- Test PLC prototypes internally and on site for new/changes in the project
- Assess programming and commissioning methods to ensure those meet the Intelligrated Coding standards
- Executes all test plans on-site, both internal and customer acceptance/BUAT/UAT/FAT
- Monitors and works from project tasks lists and timelines; reports progress on a regular basis
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE-
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum of 3-4 years of Controls Engineering Experience in a similar profile
- Leadership experience (Project Lead, Team Lead, or similar)
- Ability and willingness to site travel up 70-80% of the time local & international.
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Programming and Electrical Design of:
- Scanner and Machine vision system interface
- Project planning and budgeting
- Effective writing and verbal skills
- Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Beckhoff Programmable Logic Controllers
- Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) setup, configuration and programming.
- Understanding and experience working with various Network Protocols.
- Warehouse control system software interface and protocols
- Human-machine Interface system design, AB-Panel View.

- Work experience in Rockwell system house is considered as added advantage.
- Experience in E-Commerce Material Handling, baggage handling Systems.
