Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and authority System Firmware and Diagnostics Quality Engineer to join our Quality Engineering team in Bangalore. Imagine what you could do here! In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of system firmware and diagnostics for our products throughout the manufacturing process, along with the development of automation tools to support these processes.
Description
You will play a significant role in identifying, analyzing, and resolving issues related to software diagnostics, manufacturing build phases, debug, and fixing. You will also be responsible for leading a local lab environment and contractors, while collaborating closely with a geographically distributed team. Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance: Implement comprehensive test plans and test cases to validate system firmware and diagnostics functionality during manufacturing.
  • Issue Identification & Resolution: Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and work closely with SFD teams to drive issue resolution.
  • Debug & Fixing: Apply sophisticated debugging techniques and tools to diagnose complex system issues.
  • Lab Management: Handle the local lab environment, including equipment maintenance, setup, and configuration.
  • Develop and maintain tools and frameworks: Support automation of validation used in test processes.
  • Remote Collaboration: Work independently and reliably in a remote environment, collaborating with a team located in a different time zone.
  • Continuous Improvement: Find opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the quality assurance process.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality assurance and automation development role
  • Experience supporting manufacturing build phases and solving related issues.
  • Validated ability to apply strong QA fundamentals, solving, and analytical skills to identify, track, and drive resolution of HW/SW issues across multi-functional teams.
  • Proficient in scripting languages like Python/Lua/Bash
  • Experience with Git (or any other source code management/version control system)
  • Skilled in crafting, developing and implementing automation scripts
  • Strong familiarity with MacOS/Linux/Unix
  • Validated understanding of standard IT networking principles and protocols
  • Experience handling a lab environment and contractors
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Cloud infrastructure and IT networking and security protocols
  • Familiarity with databases like PostgreSQL
  • Exposure to at least one of C++/Objective-C/Swift is a plus
