We are seeking a skilled and proactive System Engineer L2 to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's IT infrastructure, with a focus on backup management, SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), and patch management. This role involves performing system monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks to ensure the stability and security of our IT systems
Key Responsibilities:
1. Backup Management:
- Monitor and manage backup schedules, ensuring data is backed up according to policy.
- Perform routine backup and restoration tests to validate data integrity.
- Troubleshoot backup failures and coordinate with vendors for support if needed.
2. SCCM Management:
- Deploy, manage, and monitor software distribution and updates using SCCM.
- Create and maintain SCCM packages, collections, and reports.
- Troubleshoot SCCM-related issues, including software deployment and update failures.
3. Patch Management:
- Manage and apply patches and updates to servers, desktops, and other systems.
- Ensure timely and accurate installation of security patches to maintain system compliance.
- Troubleshoot patch-related issues and coordinate with other teams to resolve conflicts.
4. System Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor system performance and availability, responding to alerts and incidents.
- Perform routine system maintenance, including hardware and software updates.
- Collaborate with the L2 and L3 teams for advanced troubleshooting.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of system changes, incidents, and solutions.
- Prepare regular reports on system performance, patch compliance, and backup status.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of experience in system administration or a similar IT support role.
- Experience with backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Symantec, or similar).
- Familiarity with SCCM for software distribution and patch management.
- Strong understanding of Windows Server, Active Directory, and network concepts.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team.
Preferred Skills:
- Certification in Microsoft technologies (e.g., MCSA, MCSE).
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell or VBScript) for automation.
- Knowledge of ITIL best practices
