Staff Engineer - Firmware

As a member of the Cloud Systems and Services group at Seagate, you will play a crucial role in developing a new storage software platform dedicated to storage controllers. Your responsibilities will involve effectively communicating and documenting software design, leading the development of new features, and collaborating with various teams to provide technical direction. Key Responsibilities: - Communicate and document software design effectively - Participate in detailed code inspections - Lead multiple components on storage controller - Provide technical direction and support for feature development - Drive complete design and development of Storage-based products - Participate in customer calls for requirement gathering - Collaborate with customer-facing team to solve reported problems Qualifications Required: - Strong C/C++ skills - Experience with RAID controller or other storage systems - Knowledge of embedded multi-threaded RTOS application development - Expertise in SOC, DSP Processor, ARM Processor, RTOS, C, and Assembly language - Linux user process and device driver development skills - Scripting skills (bash, Python) - Experience with GDB Debugger - Familiarity with SES, IPMI, SCSI, SMP, KCS, IPMB, TCP/IP, IC, SMBus, PSMI, Smart Battery, PMBus protocols - Understanding of software design and development methodologies - Experience with Agile/SCRUM methodologies - Proficiency in source control tools (e.g. Git, SVN, Jira, Crucible) - Knowledge of Eclipse or equivalent IDE In addition to the exciting role, Seagate's site in Pune provides a dynamic work environment with innovative opportunities and personal development initiatives.
