Sr Staff Engineer - software/firmware test automation

As a Qualcomm Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, creating, modifying, and validating embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and specialized utility programs. You will collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions. **Key Responsibilities:** - Work with Programming Languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. - Create software/firmware test plans to address requirements traceability matrix and test coverage - Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated software/firmware test suites for verifying quality and compliance of Qualcomm products - Manually test customer experience of installation and deployment of Qualcomm hardware and software - Assist in creating a Quality Engineering/Release engineering process with a focus on continuous integration and continuous development - Ensure production-level software readiness, implement customer use-cases, workload analysis models, and collaborate with other teams on bring-up/debug/diags - Focus on enhancing existing Operating Systems and customer usage environments from a power and performance perspective **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field with 6+ years of Software Engineering experience OR Master's degree with 5+ years OR PhD with 4+ years - 3+ years of work experience with Programming Languages - Strong understanding and experience in software/firmware test automation techniques - Strong programming skills in C and/or Python - Extensive experience working with operating systems like Windows, Linux, and Android - Experience in developing automated software/firmware test cases for mobile, compute, and automotive platforms - Experience testing production quality software, particularly in an organization that delivers software for SOC solutions Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing accessible processes for individuals with disabilities during the application/hiring process.
