Sr. NoSQL Engineer/Administrator-2

As a Senior Database Engineer at R1, you will be responsible for administering and maintaining NoSQL and relational SQL Server/MySQL Databases. Your main focus will be on providing operations support for multiple NoSQL clusters running on Azure, including installing, configuring, monitoring, designing, implementing, and supporting mission-critical MongoDB, Cosmos, Couchbase, and SQL Server environments. You should be a fast learner who is passionate about automating development and production environments, thriving on the challenges of working in a highly distributed and dynamic Hybrid Cloud environment. Collaboration with internal engineering teams to gather requirements and deliver on various database platforms will be a key aspect of your role. Your essential responsibilities will include creating, administering, monitoring, and maintaining multiple Elasticsearch, MongoDB, Cosmos, and Couchbase environments. Working closely with development teams, you will design and implement optimized NoSQL databases, as well as implement relational databases, tables, and table changes. Supporting application development for problem-solving and performance tuning will also be part of your duties. Additionally, you will assist in administering, monitoring, and maintaining SQL Server environments, including disaster recovery, and work on logical/physical database designs for applications and infrastructure. To be successful in this role, you should have 8+ years of experience in Database, Data Management, or Engineering roles, with at least 6 years in high volume/high transaction data administration, including 3 years with Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies. Your expertise should encompass managing NoSQL databases such as Couchbase, MongoDB, CosmosDB, as well as ElasticSearch. Experience in performance tuning, database monitoring, and working with large transactional databases will be crucial. Technical skills should include troubleshooting performance issues with NoSQL databases and recommending configuration changes for optimal performance. Experience with relational databases like Microsoft SQL Server and MySQL will be beneficial, along with proficiency in data modeling and Azure database technologies. Desired technical skills include the ability to develop queries, troubleshoot performance issues, and recommend optimal configurations for NoSQL databases. Experience in the design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and control of the organization's NoSQL databases across various platforms is preferred. Certifications in Azure/SQL Server/NoSQL, experience with Postgres and MySQL, and knowledge of SQL monitoring tools are considered advantageous.
