POSITION: MANAGER/SR MANAGER: GRANT WRITING 

TEAM: SAURAMANDALA FOUNDATION - CORE 

SALARY RANGE: INR 12-14 LPA 

LOCATION: BENGALURU (HYBRID)


ABOUT SAURAMANDALA FOUNDATION- CFAD

Sauramandala Foundation is an NGO founded in 2018 with a vision to bring about systemic change in the lives of remote communities through empathetic, collaborative, and contextual solutions that are co-created with the communities themselves. 


The Centre for Accelerated Development (CFAD) by Sauramandala Foundation is a public policy framework that addresses the challenges remote and inaccessible communities face by accelerating social and economic change through collaborative action, working with the government to scale up programs to increase impact. 


ABOUT THE ROLE

In the next five years, Sauramandala Foundation aims to scale some of the proven social impact initiatives in Northeast and Eastern regions of the country, possibly other geographies. These scaling initiatives are usually done through government and social impact organizations operating in those states. However, the Foundation brings additional technical and funding resources to augment co-designing and contextualizing the social impact in the state in the first few years. The Manager/ Sr. Manager shall work with the KM Team, Founding Team, and Partnership Leads to discuss the pitch and create the narrative around the pitch. Besides grant writing itself, the Manager/ Sr. Manager is also responsible for drafting and finalizing the key reports for submission to the donors and/or publishing by the Foundation.


The two key roles for this position are:

  • Drafting, finalizing, and communicating the grant proposals for submission to the donors (80%)
  • Drafting, finalizing and, communicating key project impacts in the form of impact reports to the donors and general audience (20%)


WHAT WILL YOU DO AS THE MANAGER/SR MANAGER - GRANT WRITING?

  • Maintain an active donor pipeline:

    Curate a pipeline of the domestic and international donors, assign stages and priorities to the donors.
  • Donor CRM:

    Leverage the donor CRM consists of donor profiles, contacts, and intelligence to qualify leaders and add to the active donor pipeline.  
  • Pitch discussion: Carry out desk research, discussion with the donors, and previous grantee to understand the donor priorities and preferences, discuss with the teams to finalise the pitch point.
  • Grant Writing: Based on the pitch point, write the grant proposal. The proposal can be in various shapes and sizes - full proposal, short proposal, concept note, among others and formats - document, presentation, or a web form.
  • Impact reporting: Based on the M&E data and target audience, discuss a narrative to communicate the project outputs and impacts in the form of impact reports to the donors and general public. 


WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?


Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate for the position brings a mix of grant writing, research, and communication experiences and skills in the social impact space. It will help to have some experiences in one or more areas of agriculture-based livelihoods, youth development, and enterprise promotion.

  • The candidate shall have 4 to 8 years of relevant experiences in grant research and writing. The writing should include writing professional reports and producing narratives for general audiences as well. The candidate should bring relevant experience in quantitative and qualitative research, especially good understanding of descriptive statistics and data analysis using MS-Excel.
  • The candidate should have an undergraduate or a graduate degree in any branch of social sciences (preferably in Economics, Sociology, Social Work, and Geography) or in humanities with relevant experiences and graduate studies from a recognized university or institution.
  • The candidate should have a moderate to high degree of proficiency in using word processing, spreadsheets, presentation, and diagramming software.
  • The candidate should have a high degree of skills in organizing information and time.
