Job Description

The Mortgage Solutions division provides title insurance settlement services, signing services, portfolio analytics, retention and acquisition services; property valuations; and default solutions for the mortgage banking industry. In fact, Mortgage Solutions works with a multitude of people across the entire origination, servicing and default continuum, and has helped close millions of real estate transactions nationwide.

Job Summary

Senior Software Engineer will translate complex functional requirements into system requirements while developing applications for First American, these are typically web based applications developed by adhering to coding standards and guidelines by following a continuous Build-Integrate-Test (Agile) approach
Role will engage with the stakeholders to convert business requirements in to a viable blue print
Senior Software Engineer will have Understanding the software development lifecycle and has knowledge of the overall application development space combined with understanding of the business and domain
Role will build basic code assigned modules and features using available stacks and knowledge of programming languages generally under supervision, will apply standard trouble shooting and debugging concepts to achieve speed and efficiency, will also review code and suggest enhancements
Senior Software Engineer will understand the Agile manifesto and ceremonies, will design and develop basic DB solutions, will establish database objects and perform performance tuning
Role will work with Configuration Management tools to enforce CM practices and processes
Role is required to adhere to the QA standards defined by the organization and will work with a deep understanding of performance bottlenecks, production infrastructure, interfaces and dependencies of the product

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement relational database structures and data models.
Write efficient and optimized SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Perform code optimization and query tuning for large-scale datasets.
Develop and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes.
Experience Data warehouses (DWH) to support analytics and reporting.
Work with Power BI and other BI tools to integrate data and develop DAX measures.
Ensure database security, backups, and disaster recovery plans.
Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues.
Maintain documentation for database structures, processes, and tasks (e.g., migration, leave planning).
Automate routine database maintenance tasks using scripts.
Stay updated with SQL best practices and emerging database technologies.

Required Skills Qualifications

Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
Experience with MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
Expertise in query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with data modeling and data warehouse design.
Proficiency in DAX and integration with BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
Familiarity with ETL tools and data pipeline development.
Understanding database security, authentication, and encryption.
Good to have: DBA knowledge and experience in managing database infrastructure.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and database automation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Good to have experience in Python programming and AI tools.

Educational Qualification and Experience:

Minimum of 15 years of formal education - Graduate / Post Graduate in Computer Science / Information Technology.

Professional work experience of 5 to 7 years.
