Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a SQL Database Administrator located in Bengaluru. The SQL Database Administrator will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of databases, ensuring their performance, security, and reliability. Tasks include database design, replication, troubleshooting, and general database maintenance. The SQL Database Administrator will also be responsible for implementing and monitoring databases to support various company applications and ensuring optimum performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across development, test, and production environments.
• Monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning solutions.
• Perform database backups, restores, and recovery operations as per business continuity requirements.
• Apply patches, service packs, and version upgrades.
• Manage database security by creating users, roles, and assigning appropriate permissions.
• Assist in database design, schema changes, and query optimization in collaboration with developers.
• Automate routine tasks using SQL scripts or tools.
• Monitor jobs, replication, and scheduled tasks to ensure smooth operations.
• Generate and maintain documentation for database processes, standards, and configurations.
• Provide on-call support for critical production issues as needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1–2 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA or in a similar database support role.
• Strong knowledge of

  MS SQL Server (2016/2019 or later)

• Hands-on experience with

  backup & recovery, user management, and performance tuning

• Familiarity with

  T-SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions

• Basic understanding of

  indexes, execution plans, and query optimization techniques

• Knowledge of database security, roles, and permissions.
• Experience with

  SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)

  and monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with

  Windows Server environments
