Splicer

Role:

The Fiber Optic Splicer / Internet Fiber Technician is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic cables for high-speed internet services. The technician will ensure efficient connectivity, troubleshoot issues, and support network expansion and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform fiber optic splicing (core alignment or fusion splicing) and termination.

• Install, test, and maintain fiber optic networks in residential and commercial areas.

• Read and interpret fiber network diagrams and blueprints.

• Handle Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), Power Meter, and other fiber testing equipment.

• Troubleshoot and repair faults in fiber optic networks.

• Install and configure customer-premises equipment (CPE), such as ONU, routers, and modems.

• Ensure timely completion of service calls, repairs, and new installations.

• Maintain proper documentation of work performed including splicing records and test results.

• Follow safety standards, procedures, and guidelines on-site.

Essential Requirements:

• ITI / Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications, or related field.

• Minimum 1–3 years of experience in fiber splicing or internet broadband installation.

• Knowledge of fiber tools and testing equipment.

• Basic understanding of IP, networking, and internet connectivity setups.

• Valid two-wheeler license (preferred for field travel).
