Manager Software Development (Java)

Position Brief:

The Manager Software Development will oversee the development and delivery of software

applications and products. The role will drive project planning, execution of product roadmaps,

team management, and the establishment of high-quality software delivery processes. The role is

responsible for ensuring optimal staffing, providing technical expertise, and maintaining

alignment with business goals.

Primary Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day development and delivery of software applications and products.

• Create and manage project plans, sprint plans, and work breakdowns for the development teams.

• Collaborate with product managers and business leaders to plan and execute future product

roadmaps.

• Ensure the development team is well-staffed and hire or augment the team as needed.

• Provide technical guidance and development expertise to the team.

• Establish and maintain a software delivery process that meets business needs with high-

quality outcomes.

Required Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline..

• 11+ years of overall experience in Java, with significant contributions as a Java Development Manager to a full stack development team.
• Expert in middleware frameworks like Spring Boot, Flask, or Hibernate.
• Experience with front-end frameworks such as Angular, Vue, or React.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relational databases (e.g., MySQL, MS SQL Server) and familiarity with NoSQL and Graph databases as an advantage.
• Proficiency in development and debugging tools such as Eclipse, NetBeans, Spring Tool Suite,

Visual Studio Code, etc.

• Exposure to Waterfall and Agile methodologies, including product backlogs, prioritization, planning, and running development sprints.
