Job Description

As a Unibasic Developer Software Engineer Senior at FIS, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and relevant issues in the financial services and technology industry. The FIS Securities processing suite integrates various FIS products to provide a comprehensive 360-degree solution to clients in the Securities processing domain. This suite includes the FIS Securities Finance Processor product, which focuses on lending and borrowing securities in the market, covering trade life cycle functionalities, various security types, collaterals, repo/reverse repo, rate changes, marking, recalls, and more, along with a wide range of reports and matrices. In this role, you will work with the team to develop backend software solutions for real-time data processing into the product database. Your responsibilities will include analyzing, designing, programming, debugging, and modifying software enhancements and products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs. You will also interact with product managers and users to define system requirements, participate in software design meetings, and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements. Other duties will include writing technical specifications, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, implementing, and maintaining software applications using current programming languages and technologies. You will provide L3 support, contribute to post-mortems, become a subject matter expert on key platforms and technologies, and train internal teams on system applications. Additionally, you will evaluate and implement new technologies, convert business requirements into executable code solutions, and collaborate with technical and business groups. To qualify for this role, you should have a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline, or equivalent education, training, or work experience. You should have at least 8 years of professional experience in developing Unibasic and Unidata applications, along with experience in Unix environments, SQL commands, SB+ environment, and software design patterns. It would be beneficial to have experience in trade processing and settlement in securities and derivatives domains, Domain Driven Design, Event Driven Architecture, Python, Jira, Confluence, Agile, and test-driven development. Strong analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, team management, time management, and communication skills are essential for this role.
