Job Description

Building advanced locomotion and loco-manipulation algorithms that enable the robot to navigate and manipulate objects across diverse terrain types including stairs, slopes, obstacles, and uneven surfaces in built environments with natural dexterity and athleticism, while seamlessly combining locomotion and manipulation tasks using model-based, data-driven, and hybrid control approaches.

Core Responsibilities
  • Building locomotion algorithms for quadruped robots using model-based control, RL, and hybrid approaches
  • Creating loco-manipulation controllers that coordinate whole-body motion with a robotic arm manipulation for complex tasks in real-world environments
  • Integrating simulation-trained models with real robot hardware through systematic sim-to-real transfer and continuous learning frameworks
Hard Skills
  • Experience in control algorithms for legged robots with expertise in dynamics, kinematics, and optimization-based control (MPC, QP, numerical techniques)
  • Strong ML background: RL, imitation learning, and neural network deployment for real-time robotics applications
  • Advanced programming in C++ for real-time control
  • Physics simulation expertise with proven sim-to-real transfer experience
  • Control theory fundamentals: state estimation, feedback control, trajectory optimization, and whole-body control for mobile manipulators
