About The Opportunity
Value Added Services (VAS) team (Also popularly known as Amazon Home Services (AHS) in Hyderabad, India is building a WW Services platform which enables Amazon to seamlessly integrate professional services (including home improvement, installation, maintenance, and lifestyle services) with product purchases. We're building a first-of-its-kind ecosystem that connects qualified service professionals with customers while maintaining the highest standards of trust, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead a team of talented engineers while fostering a culture of technical excellence
- Drive the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for our fulfillment execution systems
- Collaborate across business and engineering teams to design and implement scalable solutions
- Establish engineering best practices and development standards
- Balance technical trade-offs between scalability, performance, and user experience
- Provide technical mentorship and guide architectural decisions
- Manage team priorities, goals, and stakeholder relationships
What You'll Do
- Architect and develop robust, scalable systems that power our service marketplace
- Lead technical design reviews and provide strategic guidance on system integration
- Define and implement technical strategies that align with business objectives
- Foster engineering excellence through mentorship and knowledge sharing
- Drive operational excellence through effective devops processes
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of engineering team management experience
- 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
- Experience partnering with product or program management teams
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
- Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
