As the Buyer Safety Experience team for Amazon Retail worldwide, we aim to raise the bar when it comes to educating and empowering consumers about product safety. Our team is responsible for the complete end-to-end safety experience for buyers from the warnings you see on the product detail pages (and how to turn them into useful, actionable information), to making safer product recommendations targeted to each individual consumer s needs, to informing consumers of recalled products and preventing them from being delivered to their doorstep. As a founding engineer of the Buyer Safety Experience India team, you ll be able to build the groundwork and influence its direction for the years to come. Our work cuts across various disciplines from delivering an awesome user experience via great UI/UX, to building massively scalable distributed systems to support the most high-traffic pages on Amazon worldwide, to analytical and feedback systems which give us data-driven customer insights, to using GenAI to educate customers about safe shopping choices and safe product use. If you have a passion for consumer-facing applications, and are obsessed with customer experience, we want you! As one of first engineers of the Buyer Safety Experience team in BLR, you will help build and grow a two-pizza team, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders worldwide across Program and Product. Your role will be heavily customer-obsessed, building solutions to ensure Amazon is Earths safest place to shop. A day in the life Hiring and mentorship: Help build a two-pizza team from scratch, ensuring high standards for engineering excellence to influence SDEs in the years to come Deeply understand technical decisions, influence long-term architecture Build a strong foundation and ensure a high bar for design and coding best practices Work closely with international stakeholders across our VP-level Trustworthy Shopping Experience org, in addition to TPM and PM-T 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience 3+ years of building complex software systems experience Experience programming with at least one software programming language 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
