Software Architect - Backend

You will be joining our Digital Signage Cloud team as a seasoned Backend Architect. Your main role will be leading the design and evolution of scalable, secure, and cloud-native backend systems that support a global multimedia and device management platform. Your expertise in backend technologies, AWS serverless technologies, and distributed system design will be crucial for this role. Experience with IoT platforms and AI integrations will be considered a strong advantage. **Key Responsibilities:** - Architect and evolve backend systems for modularity, scalability, and performance in a multi-tenant SaaS environment. - Design and implement cloud-native serverless architectures using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, and Cognito. - Define backend standards and promote best practices for API design, authentication, error handling, and observability. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver cohesive solutions, including frontend engineers, product managers, DevOps, and QA. - Implement secure authentication and authorization using tools like Okta, Cognito, OAuth2, and OIDC. - Guide design decisions for IoT integration to ensure secure cloud-device communication. - Lead design and code reviews, mentor engineers, and foster a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement. - Explore and incorporate AI/ML capabilities into the backend service architecture. - Maintain focus on performance optimization, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence through metrics and monitoring tools. **Skill & Experience Requirements:** - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - 10+ years of backend development experience with at least 3 years in architectural leadership roles. - Expert-level proficiency in Node.js / TypeScript with experience in asynchronous programming and modular architecture. - Strong hands-on experience in designing and scaling applications using AWS serverless services. - Proven understanding of distributed systems, multi-tenancy, RBAC, and backend security principles. - Exposure to IoT systems and edge/cloud integration patterns is advantageous. - Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code (CDK/Terraform), Git workflows, and automated testing. - Familiarity with React or modern frontend frameworks. - Knowledge of AI/ML integrations and generative AI workflows is a bonus. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams and functions. **Who We Are:** We are a values-driven organization that encourages authenticity and empowers employees to have a tangible impact on products, clients, and culture.
