SmartComm Architect
who can design and deliver enterprise-grade CCM ecosystems that don't just work, but scale with precision. You'll own the technical blueprint, drive integrations across high-volume platforms, and lead teams to deliver with zero excuses.Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture & Design
- Define enterprise-level SmartComm architecture, covering data flows, template libraries, content authoring, and orchestration layers.
- Architect modular, reusable CCM assets to support multi-channel delivery (Print, Email, SMS, Web, Mobile, APIs).
- Establish secure and scalable integration architectures with policy admin, billing, CRM, and digital engagement platforms.
- Implementation Leadership
- Lead hands-on design and development of SmartComm Document Templates, Data Models, and Communication Flows.
- Oversee configuration of Business Rules, Correspondence Logic, and Rendering Pipelines across large-scale deployments.
- Ensure all implementations adhere to performance, compliance, and security standards (including PII/PCI-sensitive data handling).
- Integration & Performance
- Design robust REST/SOAP API integrations with enterprise systems, ensuring data integrity and transaction reliability.
- Optimize rendering engines for high-volume batch communications and on-demand correspondence.
- Define and enforce error handling, retry mechanisms, and logging standards for CCM solutions.
- Governance & Best Practices
- Set up DevOps pipelines for CCM deployments (CI/CD, automated testing, version control, rollback).
- Establish governance frameworks for template versioning, approval workflows, and change management.
- Maintain architectural documentation and reusable accelerators for future implementations.
- Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary technical authority for SmartComm implementations within enterprise programs.
- Partner with solution architects, data architects, and business stakeholders to align CCM strategy with enterprise objectives.
- Mentor and upskill developers, enforcing coding standards and architectural discipline across delivery teams.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- 15+ years in enterprise IT, with 5+ years dedicated to CCM architecture and development.
- Proven Technical Architect with hands-on delivery experience in SmartComm (Smart Communications).
- Strong expertise in SmartComm modules: Template Designer, Communication Builder, Data Modeler, Interactive Editor, Batch Processing.
- Exposure to other CCM tools (OpenText Exstream, Quadient Inspire, EngageOne) and ability to architect migration/modernization strategies.
- Strong foundation in APIs, integration patterns, and messaging frameworks (REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, JMS, Kafka).
- Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tools (Jenkins, Git, Azure DevOps, Docker/Kubernetes).
- Familiarity with cloud deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerized SmartComm implementations.
- Strong knowledge of scalability, high-availability, failover, and load-balancing designs for CCM platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
