Job Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at our company, your role will involve ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our database services with a specific focus on Vector Databases and Generative AI (GenAI) applications. Your responsibilities will include: - Taking ownership of database reliability, availability, scalability, and automation for mission-critical AI workloads. - Working with GenAI Foundation Models and Vector Databases to enable advanced AI and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities. - Evaluating and recommending database technologies suitable for AI/ML-driven applications. - Installing, configuring, and maintaining vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, Memgraph, Milvus, etc. on hybrid infrastructure platforms. - Designing and optimizing embedding storage architectures for high-dimensional vector search at scale. - Monitoring and enhancing the performance, scalability, and resilience of vector database deployments. - Managing data ingestion, indexing strategies (HNSW, IVF, Annoy, etc.), and re-indexing processes. - Ensuring data consistency, replication, backup, and disaster recovery best practices are implemented. - Implementing robust security controls including access management, encryption, and audit logging. - Collaborating with AI/ML and data engineering teams to integrate vector databases into NLP, computer vision, and recommendation pipelines. - Supporting the design and deployment of RAG applications leveraging large and diverse datasets. - Creating and maintaining documentation for configurations, architectures, and operational runbooks. - Driving Agile DevOps practices, emphasizing automation and continuous improvement in database operations. Qualifications and Skills required for this role include: - Strong background in database administration, site reliability engineering, or cloud infrastructure. - Hands-on experience with vector databases and their indexing/storage mechanisms. - Knowledge of GenAI foundation models, embeddings, and AI-driven applications. - Proficiency with hybrid cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes, etc.). - Familiarity with monitoring, observability, and automation tools for large-scale systems. - Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work in cross-functional AI/ML engineering teams. - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities with a passion for operational excellence.
