Site Reliability Engineer UNIX

Role Overview: You will be joining as a highly experienced Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) in a mission-critical financial environment at UBS. Your role will involve ensuring the availability, performance, and resilience of platforms by collaborating with different teams and championing operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain highly available and fault-tolerant systems in a financial environment. - Define and monitor Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for system reliability. - Identify, measure, and reduce repetitive manual tasks through automation to eliminate TOIL. - Lead incident response, post-mortems, and root cause analysis for production issues. - Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability into the software development lifecycle. - Integrate with observability platforms for end-to-end visibility of systems and services. Qualification Required: - Proven expertise in Site Reliability Engineering, with a background in software engineering, infrastructure, or operations. - Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, operating systems, and networking fundamentals. - Proficiency in scripting and automation, infrastructure as code tools, and systematic reduction of TOIL. - Ability to integrate with observability platforms, maintain measurable reliability, and handle incidents effectively. - Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across engineering and business teams.
