About Role:

The Opportunity: Site Reliability Engineer (SRE-1) Have you spent the last couple of years honing your skills in cloud environments, scripting, and understanding how software runs in the real worldAre you eager to apply that experience to a platform operating at massive scale, tackling exciting reliability challenges, and accelerating your growth trajectory As an SRE-1 at MoEngage, youll step into a role where your existing cloud knowledge, scripting abilities, and understanding of system fundamentals are immediately valuable. Youll work alongside experienced SREs, contributing to the design, implementation, and maintenance of our critical infrastructure. This is a prime opportunity to deepen your expertise in areas like Kubernetes, advanced monitoring, automation, and cloud security, all while directly impacting the reliability of a platform used by leading brands worldwide.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Guard Production Systems:
Actively contribute to monitoring, measuring, and maintaining the availability, latency, and overall health of live services. Your vigilance keeps our platform running smoothly.
Automate for Impact:
Utilize your scripting skills (
Python or shell
) to automate operational tasks, reduce manual effort, and contribute to our "automate anything" philosophy.
Dive into Cloud Infrastructure:
Apply your experience with
AWS and/or GCP
to understand, manage, and optimize cloud resources supporting our platform.
Work with Kubernetes:
Get hands-on with our Kubernetes clusters, participating in deployment, management, and troubleshooting activities.
Enhance Observability:
Help implement and refine monitoring and alerting solutions (VictoriaMetrics, Prometheus, Grafana) to gain deeper insights and improve our ability to detect issues proactively.
Contribute to Reliability Initiatives:
Participate in discussions and contribute to the implementation of reliability improvements, working closely with development teams.
Learn Incident Response:
Actively participate in the incident response lifecycle, learning how to diagnose, mitigate, and prevent future issues in a high-pressure environment.
Strengthen Security:
Contribute to implementing and maintaining security best practices at the infrastructure level.
Analyze and Optimize:
Assist in analyzing infrastructure performance and cost, identifying potential areas for optimization.

Requirements:

1-3 years of hands-on experience
in cloud operations, systems administration, DevOps, or a similar role with exposure to production environments.
Solid scripting skills in Python/Go or shell
youre comfortable writing scripts to automate tasks.
Practical experience with
AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms
.
Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and command-line tools.
Experience or strong understanding of container concepts (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
Exposure to monitoring and alerting tools.
Good understanding of networking concepts.
A strong desire to learn and grow in the SRE domain.
Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying issues.
Good communication and collaboration skills you work well with others. At
