Job Overview:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Shopify apps using the platform’s latest APIs and development tools
• Build both frontend and backend components of Shopify applications using React, Node.js, and GraphQL
• Integrate third-party services and APIs within Shopify apps to extend functionality
• Implement secure authentication and data handling practices in accordance with Shopify’s App Store requirements
• Create and maintain technical documentation for developed applications
• Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize app performance
• Ensure apps meet Shopify’s security standards and best practices
• Collaborate with the team to plan and execute app development strategies

Technical Requirements:

• 2-4 years of proven experience in Shopify app development
• Strong proficiency with:
• Shopify API (REST & GraphQL)
• React.js for frontend development
• Node.js for backend services
• GraphQL query language
• Shopify CLI and development tools
• OAuth authentication flows
• Webhooks implementation
• API development and integration
• Experience with Shopify’s App Store submission process
• Understanding of Shopify’s billing API and subscription management
• Familiarity with Shopify’s security requirements and GDPR compliance
• Required Skills:
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
• Experience with version control systems (Git)
• Knowledge of secure coding practices
• Understanding of RESTful and GraphQL API design principles
• Ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Experience with automated testing and deployment practices

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Shopify’s Polaris design system
• Knowledge of Ruby on Rails
• Previous successful submissions to the Shopify App Store
• Understanding of e-commerce business logic and merchant needs
• Experience with React Native for mobile app development
