Job Description

LOCATION: Bangalore

Hours:

This position is to provide 24/7 support, you will be required to work day and night shifts.This includes 12 Hours on Saturday and 12 Hours on Sunday – Either 6am to 6pm or 6pm to 6amAdditional hours spilt during the rest of the week

Role:

As a Zabbix Monitoring Agent, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the health and performance of our IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining Zabbix agents on various systems, ensuring they effectively collect and report vital system metrics to our centralized monitoring system. By joining our team as a Zabbix Monitoring Agent, you will contribute to the overall reliability and efficiency of our IT infrastructure. Your efforts will help ensure minimal downtime and optimal system performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Agent Deployment:
  • Install and configure Zabbix agents on servers, network devices, and other monitored systems.
  • Ensure proper agent configuration to collect necessary metrics and logs.
Monitoring Configuration:
  • Create and maintain Zabbix monitoring templates to define the specific metrics and thresholds for different systems.
  • Configure triggers and alerts to notify the appropriate teams of potential issues.
Data Analysis:
  • Analyze Zabbix-generated reports and alerts to identify system performance bottlenecks and potential problems.
  • Proactively investigate and resolve issues before they escalate.
Incident Response:
  • Respond to Zabbix alerts and incidents promptly.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to agent failures, data collection errors, or performance degradation.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong understanding of system administration principles (Zabbix).
  • Comprehension of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.
  • Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good business level English language communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Zabbix certification.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Understanding of security best practices.
