Senior Structural Design Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the

  structural design and analysis

  for major water resources projects, including

  dams

  (various types),

  canal systems

  (e.g., cross-drainage works, regulators, aqueducts), and related

  civil structures

  (e.g., pumping stations, retaining walls, foundation systems).
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, design reports, specifications, and project documentation in accordance with national and international standards and codes.
• Perform complex structural calculations and simulations using industry-standard software.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including hydraulic engineers, geotechnical engineers, and project managers, to ensure integrated and optimized design solutions.
• Review and approve drawings and designs prepared by junior staff or consultants.
• Ensure all designs meet project requirements for safety, cost-effectiveness, constructability, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical support during the tendering and construction phases of projects.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers within the structural design team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Qualification:

  Bachelors degree in

  Civil Engineering

  is mandatory. A Master's degree in Structural Engineering is highly desirable.

• Experience:

  5 to 8 years

  of progressive experience in structural design, with a significant focus on heavy civil or water infrastructure projects (dams, canals, weirs, barrages, etc.).

• Location:

  Candidates

  must be based out of or willing to relocate to the Head Office

  location.

• Technical Skills:

• Demonstrated proficiency in the structural design of concrete and steel structures.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant design codes (e.g., IS, Eurocode, ACI).
• Expertise in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, MIDAS, ETABS, or equivalent).
• Familiarity with geotechnical principles as they relate to foundation design for heavy civil structures.
