Job Description

Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a Sustainability Consultant to work in the Pune/Chennai office. The candidate must be we'll-organized, possessing the ability to coordinate consulting on multiple projects and manage project team members to achieve desired results. Candidates must be proficient in sustainable building strategies and systems, and familiar with both commercial and residential construction techniques.
The candidate fully embraces the integrative design approach to high-performance, green buildings. Candidates must be analytical with the ability to understand and articulate how details fit together in the big picture. The ideal candidate will also have excellent oral and written communication skills and enjoy working with diverse project teams and building owners.

Responsibilities:

Primary focus to collaborate on projects across the USA and around the globe as opportunities arise with our clients.
Participate in and support the development of practice-wide sustainability services.
Support projects in Sustainability and/or energy optimization.
Collaborate and support sustainable strategies and energy optimization services to architects and owners/developers.
Perform sustainability analysis on projects of all scales.
Perform and/or support certification work on projects of all scale: LEED, we'll, fitwel, Passive House, Living Building Challenge.
Support synergies with other TT Practices: Structure, Facade, Renewal, Applied Science, Protective Design, and Transportation.
Support synergies with CORE Group.
Work with the local leader to network and build relationships in the area. Attend conferences, events, and join committees (when appropriate).

Requirements:

Background in building science, or architectural, engineering, and construction fields.
1-2 years of experience in sustainability consulting.
At a minimum, a bachelors degree and a LEED Green Associate credential or LEED Accredited Professional or ability to obtain credential within six months of employment.
Experience with other third-party certifications such as LEED, we'll, Passive House, Living Building Challenge.
Familiarity with US local, state, and federal codes.
Passion for sustainability.
Team oriented and the ability to work independently.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel.
Technical knowledge in the building industry and ability to navigate all aspects of construction documentation.
Solidly computer literate and able/willing to work in a PC office.
Open to learning new things and excited to share knowledge with others.
