Senior Software Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive functional, regression, integration, UI/UX, and exploratory testing.
• Create and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and checklists based on business and technical requirements.
• Identify, document, and track software defects, and work with development teams to resolve issues.
• Validate bug fixes and perform retesting.
• Participate in test planning and provide accurate effort estimates.

Test Automation (Playwright with JavaScript):

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts using Playwright in JavaScript.
• Design and implement robust, reusable, and scalable automation frameworks/components.
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline and ensure regular execution.
• Analyze automation test results, debug failures, and optimize scripts for stability and performance.

SQL & Test Data Management:

• Write and execute SQL queries to create, modify, and validate test data.
• Prepare complex datasets to support functional and regression testing.
• Ensure test data integrity and consistency across environments.

Agile/Scrum Collaboration:

• Actively participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to clarify requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Provide QA input during story grooming to identify test ability and potential risks early.
• Ensure timely delivery of testing activities within sprint timelines.

Quality Advocacy & Process Improvement:

• Promote best practices in testing and quality assurance.
• Identify opportunities for test process improvements and help implement them.
• Mentor junior testers and share technical and domain knowledge.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Strong manual testing skills with a proven track record in functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
• Automation expertise with Playwright (JavaScript).
• SQL proficiency for complex data preparation and validation.
• Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and QA processes.
• Working experience in Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Excellent defect management and reporting skills (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work in a cross-functional team environment.
