Senior Software Engineer, Linux Distros/Platforms for Data Center SoC

As a Senior Software Engineer at Qualcomm India Private Limited, your primary focus will be designing and implementing software distributions and build infrastructure to support open-source, scalable solutions. You will collaborate with teams to ensure that software, tooling, and practices meet community standards and internal requirements. Your responsibilities will include platform solutions across Qualcomm chipset portfolios and triaging software build failures. You will guide and support development teams, with a focus on Linux userspace software functionality, integration, and maintenance. Additionally, you will work closely with development and product teams for issue resolution. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with teams to design, develop, and release software, tooling, and practices - Bring up platform solutions across Qualcomm chipset portfolio - Triage software build, tooling, packaging, functional, or stability failures - Guide and support development teams focusing on Linux userspace software functionality - Work with development and product teams for issue resolution Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, OR Master's degree with 1+ year of experience, OR PhD in relevant field - 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language (C, C++, Java, Python, etc.) - Strong background in Computer Science and software fundamentals - Working knowledge of C, C++, and proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.) - Experience using git/gerrit - Strong understanding of Linux kernel, configuration techniques, system services, and Linux distributions - Familiarity with package managers, CI/CD tools - Ability and interest in debugging complex systems - Strong problem-solving skills and quick learner - Prior experience with Qualcomm software platforms is a plus - Excellent written and verbal communication skills Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer and committed to providing accessible processes for individuals with disabilities.
