Senior Software Development Manager

As a Sr Manager of Software development at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will lead a team responsible for designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks, and more. Your role involves driving the success and adoption of major components of publicly hosted storage systems, such as Web Servers, Storage Servers, Cloud Gateways, and Bulk Import Appliances. You should have a passion for taking on big challenges and be interested in building highly distributed multi-tenant cloud environments on a massive scale. **Key Responsibilities:** - Provide leadership, direction, and strategy for the engineering team - Establish and develop the organization/team to meet and execute on strategy - Work with geographically distributed teams and contribute to their success - Recruit and build a capable and cohesive engineering team - Deliver large-scale projects on time with high quality **Qualifications Required:** - 10+ years of experience delivering and operating large-scale, highly available distributed systems - Experience in delivering features or services in the Storage domain is preferred; Cloud experience is an added plus - Strong knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and scripting languages like Python, Perl, etc. - Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals - Familiarity with databases and standard network architectures - Proven success in mentoring and growing junior engineers to senior levels - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Experience in building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure and managing operations is advantageous In summary, as the Sr Manager of Software Development at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, you will play a critical role in leading the engineering team to develop major components of storage systems.
