This is a full-time remote role for an experienced Senior Software Engineer. The Senior Software Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining responsive, accessible educational interfaces for students and educators. They will build content authoring tools and course management systems and implement backend functionality using AWS serverless architectures and cloud services. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, scalable code, debugging and testing software, and collaborating with other senior developers to ensure high-quality product delivery.

Qualifications

Strong background in Software Development, with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, and an ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Proven track record delivering complex, secure software applications with tens of thousands of weekly users.
Previous experience in a similar role in the EdTech industry is beneficial, but not essential.

Required Experience:

5+ years of professional experience.
Front-end development: React 19, TypeScript, Material-UI, Vite.
Cloud Technologies: AWS Lambda (Node.js), DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway. Experienced with CI/CD pipelines and implementing AWS IaC (Infrastructure-as-Code) using Cloudformation and CDK.
Proficient with development tools like Git, NPM/node, ESLint, and other modern build tools.
Strong knowledge of OOP and Web technologies including HTML, CSS, Responsive UI and Typescript.

Preferred Experience:

8+ years of professional experience.
Understanding Responsive design and Accessibility principles.
Knowledge of collaborative coding using AI coding agents

Some of the projects our senior engineers are currently working on:

Implementing a self-hosted high-availability virtual classroom/conferencing system on AWS infrastructure, capable of handling tens of simultaneous streams, with cost- effective session recording and delivery to student cohorts.
Building a course enrollment system supporting multiple courses across multiple time slots, including waitlist management with automated student notifications for seat availability, coupled with an admin interface for seat inventory management.
Automating the translation of Figma designs into responsive web pages and collaborating with designers to establish standardized design constructs.
Implementing automated browser-based integration and acceptance testing within a CI/CD pipeline.
