Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) at Vitech, you'll play a crucial role in revolutionizing the operation of production systems for both single and multi-tenant environments. Your primary responsibilities will include supporting SRE initiatives, managing production systems, and driving infrastructure automation. Operating within an Agile team setup, you'll have the opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies, engage in on-call duties, and contribute to continuous learning in a rapidly evolving tech landscape. **Key Responsibilities:** - Own and manage the AWS cloud-based technology stack, utilizing native AWS services and top-tier SRE tools to support multiple client environments with Java-based applications and microservices architecture. - Design, deploy, and manage AWS Aurora PostgreSQL clusters for high availability and scalability, optimizing SQL queries, indexes, and database parameters for performance tuning. - Automate database operations using tools like Terraform, Ansible, AWS Lambda, and AWS CLI, including managing Auroras read replicas, auto-scaling, and failover mechanisms. - Enhance infrastructure as code patterns using technologies such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Python, and SDK, collaborating with DevOps teams to integrate Aurora with CI/CD pipelines. - Provide full-stack support for applications like Oracle WebLogic, AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, Oracle Database, Apache Tomcat, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, Docker/ECS, EC2, and S3, among others. - Troubleshoot database incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures, while documenting database architecture, configurations, and operational procedures. - Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of PostgreSQL databases on AWS Aurora, monitoring database health, troubleshooting issues, and performing root cause analysis for incidents. - Embrace SRE principles such as Chaos Engineering, Reliability, and Reducing Toil. **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience as an SRE for critical, client-facing applications, with proficiency in managing relational databases like Oracle and PostgreSQL in cloud and on-premises environments. - At least 3 years of experience hosting enterprise applications in AWS, with a strong understanding of AWS networking concepts and tools like pgAdmin, psql, or other database management utilities. - Experience in automating routine database maintenance tasks and setting up monitoring and alerting systems for database performance and availability. - Hands-on experience with web/application layers, containerized applications, and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform and CloudFormation. - Scripting experience in Python, Bash, Java, JavaScript, or Node.js, along with excellent written/verbal communication skills and critical thinking abilities.
