Senior Project Engineer - Secondary

As a Senior Project Engineer - Secondary, you will lead the secondary engineering of large-scale High Voltage Air and Gas Insulated Substation projects, contributing to the design, implementation, and commissioning of protection and control systems. You will play a key role in preparing technical schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel layouts, and cable schedules while coordinating across disciplines for seamless project execution. This position involves reviewing supplier designs, supporting factory and site acceptance tests, and providing technical expertise throughout project lifecycles. You will engage with clients, handle site queries, and contribute to cost estimation and tender documentation. Your experience in substation engineering and strong understanding of primary, secondary, and civil design will ensure high-quality project delivery in a collaborative, international work environment.

Accountabilities

• Lead secondary engineering for HV and MV substations, including AIS and GIS projects
• Prepare, validate, and approve protection and control system designs and documentation
• Develop one-line, three-line, control schematics, interconnection diagrams, and relay panel layouts
• Provide technical calculations, auxiliary power specifications, and coordination for civil and interface design
• Conduct supplier design reviews, Factory Acceptance Tests, and on-site support
• Prepare project cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender-related documentation
• Support client interactions, address site queries, and ensure project deliverables meet quality standards
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 12-20 years of substation engineering experience, including primary, secondary, and civil disciplines
• Proven expertise in protection and control systems for high voltage substations
• Strong knowledge of AIS and GIS substation design and engineering practices
• Ability to manage technical documentation, tender schemes, and project scope development
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
