Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) Responsibilities :

• Install Oracle Database software and configure database instances.
• Set up Oracle Net Services for client connectivity.
• Design database schemas, tables, and indexing strategies.
• Implement partitioning and clustering for performance optimization.
• Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies using RMAN (Recovery Manager).
• Perform regular backups and test recovery procedures.
• Monitor database performance and tune SQL queries and indexes.
• Use Oracle tools like AWR (Automatic Workload Repository) and ASH (Active Session History) for performance analysis.
• Apply patches and updates to the Oracle Database environment.
• Plan and execute database upgrades.
• Perform Database migrations and implement pre and post migrations validations.
• Must have knowledge on migrating Oracle database to PostgreSQL. Perform Evaluation, complexty matrix and highlight challenges in DB conversion from ORA to PG
• Familiarity with the different types of Oracle licenses, including Named User Plus, Processor, and Enterprise Edition licenses. Understanding which license type is most suitable for an organizations needs is essential.
• Convert database from EE to Standard license models and vice versa.
• Knowledge of how Oracle measures usage, such as the number of users or processors, and how this impacts licensing costs.
• Understanding the audit process, what to expect during an audit, and how to prepare for it. Organizations often face audits from Oracle to ensure compliance, so having expertise in this area can aid in navigating these challenges.
• Use Oracle Enterprise Manager for monitoring database health and performance.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as rebuilding indexes and gathering statistics.
• Implement Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery.
• Setup and monitor Golden Gate replications
