Role Description

Network Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Deployment & Configuration:

Install, configure, and manage
FortiGate Next-Gen Firewalls
across multiple environments (HQ, branches, data centers, cloud).
Design and implement
SD-WAN
for branch connectivity, performance optimization, and cost efficiency.
Configure and maintain
IPSec and SSL VPN
tunnels for site-to-site and remote access.

Management & Monitoring:

Administer
FortiManager
for centralized policy, firmware, and template management.
Manage and analyze logs via
FortiAnalyzer
for event correlation, reporting, and compliance.
Monitor and troubleshoot firewall policies, routing, NAT, and session flows.

Security & Optimization:

Configure and tune
IPS, Web Filtering, and Application Control
profiles to ensure optimal protection.
Conduct proactive health checks, performance tuning, and firmware upgrades.
Implement
High Availability (HA)
and redundancy strategies.

Troubleshooting & Support:

Analyze incidents, troubleshoot connectivity or performance issues, and apply corrective actions.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for security and network incidents.

Documentation & Reporting:

Maintain updated network and security diagrams, SOPs, and configuration baselines.
Generate periodic reports from FortiAnalyzer for audit and compliance reviews.

Required Skills & Expertise:

Hands-on experience with:
FortiGate Firewalls (NGFW)
FortiManager & FortiAnalyzer
Fortinet SD-WAN
IPSec and SSL VPN configurations
Routing (static, dynamic — OSPF/BGP)
NAT, VLAN, and Policy Management
Strong understanding of:
Network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP)
Security principles and best practices
Troubleshooting tools (packet capture, FortiGate CLI, debug flow)
