Senior Network Engineer

As our new Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and managng an organizations network infrastrucutre. Primary purpose is to ensure that the network systems - both hardware and software - overate efficiently, securely and relialby to support the organisations IT needs.

This role willalso ensure compliance to security policies within the teams scope, as well as ensuring business continuity and disaster recovery plans are fit for purpose.

The individual accountabilities will be the following:

• Implement geographically distributed WAN solutions to optimize network traffic routing and enhance performance.


• Configure SDWAN/MPLS/SASE network to ensure efficient and reliable communication between locations.


• Manage Fortinet firewall configurations, including, system Health and Maintenance, IPSec VPNs, SSL VPNs and UTM features


• Implement PaloAlto firewall policies to enforce security controls and protect against advanced threats.


• Perform regular audits of firewall rules and configurations to ensure compliance with organizations security policies and industry standards.


• Troubleshoot complex network issues related to SDWAN, MPLS, Fortinet, Palo Alto, WAN, LAN, and Wi-Fi technologies.


• Develop and maintain network documentation, Cloud Migration Strategy (AZURE), including diagrams, configuration files, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).


• Monitor network performance metrics and analyze trends to identify areas for improvement and optimization.


• Lead network upgrade and migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.


• Provide advanced technical support and guidance to junior network engineers and IT staff.

The requirements for this position are:

• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience of Fortinet firewall technologies is a must-have skill for this role


• Fortinet certifications and Fortimanager/Fortianalyzer knowledge are a strong plus


• Knowledge and hands on experience of HP switches


• Proven experience in operating and troubleshooting large scale IT DATACENTER & Network systems.


• Expertise in VLANs and Routing configuration and troubleshooting


• Knowledge of Azure Cloud Networking technologies is preferred


• Experience of structured cabling (fiber and copper).


• Exposure to server network connectivity, teaming, TCP/IP networking, switching and routing.


• Experience with Disaster Recovery, Business Continuity, Change Control Processes and Network Performance Monitoring Tools.


• Strong experience with technical documentation writing and maintenance.


• Awareness of Information Security issues, threats and countermeasures.


• CCNA/CCNP Certified or equivalent certification in relevant programs desired
